NSSA Newport Beach Surf Event November 3 – 4

The National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA), a youth organization that promotes excellence in competitive surfing and high academic achievement among its members, will hold their annual surf competition in Newport Beach at 54th street just across from the Newport Channel Inn on November 3 and 4, 2012.

The beach at 54th Street is considered one of the best surfing spots in California. It is also one of the cleanest beaches in California, earning one of only three top “5 Star” highest rated outstanding water quality beaches for Cleanest Beach in California  from the National Resource Defense Council.  Stay at the Newport Channel Inn that weekend and check out the up-and-coming surfing talent.

The Newport Channel Inn is located just steps to this top rated beach and the NSSA event.  For room reservations, call the Inn at 949 642-3030 or book on the Inn’s website at www.newportchannelinn.com.

  1. My daughter will be very excited to wear her kids rashies given the chance that there are surfing schools ready to admit her. She loves extreme sports at such a tender age.

  2. My son wanted to join a surfing competition after only learning how to surf last summer. I don't want to discourage him to do it, but is there any surf safety precautions I can do?

  3. One way to practice balance while off the water is using roller blades. While it helps to balance the body, it also develops how to move in consideration of gravity.
