The 3-day “Taste of Newport” food and wine festival begins this Friday, September 17. Over 35 restaurants and 20 wineries will be serving. They close off two city blocks for the event and set up a huge stage for entertainment. Several bands play each day, including the Gin Blossoms on Friday night, Foreigner on Saturday night, and Pat Benatar on Sunday afternoon. Admission price includes the entertainment. Food and wine are extra after you get in. It is a lot of fun!

The 32nd annual Lido Yacht Expo takes place Wednesday, September 23 through Sunday, September 26, 2010, just down the street from the Newport Channel Inn. This is an on-the-water boat show with about 250 boats anchored in Newport Harbor near Lido Marina Village, all connected and accessible to the public by an extensive dock system. Come pick out your next yacht! (Even if like most of us it is only in your dreams!) These are the big boats (from 30 to over 100 feet long) with all the amenities like hot tubs, the latest electronics, and even helicopter landing pads.

Over 150 vintage, classic, and extreme automobiles will be on display at the Coastline Car Classic on Sunday, September 12, 2010 10 a.m. – 4 p.m in Newport Beach. The car show is held at Big Corona del Mar State Beach, so you can enjoy the sun, sand, and water too! This judged event is split into 16 categories and is emceed by Automotive Commentators Dave Kunz (KABC) & Art Gould (KPFK).
The event showcases the elegance, craftsmanship, and beauty of the most distinguished and unique automobiles in Southern California. These fabulous cars hit the scenic coastal open roads during the Coastline Motoring Road Rally, which takes place a day earlier, on Saturday, September 11, 2010.
